On the sidelines…

On the sidelines

Don't let it pass you by

Many of us are part of the proverbial daily grind.  You know; the one we tell ourselves is what we want out of life, while LIFE, in fact, passes us by.  We start off with great dreams, which are eventually tempered by society’s idea of what our norm should be.  Well… get over it!  That IS life.  But even if you didn’t get to live THE dream, is what you ARE living now so bad?  It’s up to you to make the most of the time you are given.  What you do with it is up to you, and you alone!  So don’t let it pass you by.  Rope it and ride it!

I shot this hand-held with a Nikon D700 and 14-24 f2.8 lens (love that combo).  To post process, I ran the RAW image through Photomatix to bring back more of the dynamic range, desaturated in photoshop, and then hand painted colors into those areas I wanted to accentuate.  What caught me most in this scene was the geometry of the contents of the frame, as well as the contrast between the motion of the speeding train, and the stationary people on the platform.
